"I feel like I am attending a meeting of a religious sect here this morning. It’s as if the global revolution of 2016, Brexit, Trump, the Italian rejection of the referendum, has completely bypassed you.
You can’t face up to the fact that this bandwagon is going to roll across Europe in these elections in 2017. A lot of citizens now recognize this form of centralized government simply doesn’t work.
Opposition to "Globalism" as used in these sorts of debates is not about opposition to free trade, as the Brexiteers you referenced have repeatedly shown. Globalism is the idea that supranational considerations and organization are superior to local/national ones.
This often entails the loss of local/national sovereignty to organizations like the EU, NATO, WTO, UN, TPP, etc. which in their own ways limit the ability of local/national governments to legislate/act as they wish and, most importantly, reduce the ability of citizens to hold their governments to account.Read more
Globalism is a defective and manipulated version of capitalism where the corporate influence corrupts and subverts elected officials to set trading preferences to benefit the large and influential over the small.

1994 - MX 1.5 surplus, CA 13.9 deficit, CN 29.5 deficit
2000 - MX 24.6 deficit, CA 51.9 deficit, CN 83.8 deficit - favored nation by Clinton in '98.Read more
This is far bigger than Obama's legacy. The globalist agenda is at stake - the UK referendum on leaving the EU produced a Brexit result which puts at risk the EU project and potentially undermines the globalists. Whether Trump becomes president in the US or not is key.
If Hillary had won, then she would have done everything in her considerable power to isolate the UK as a warning to other EU countries not to leave the EU.Read more
The 1948 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) was replaced 12/1994 by the WTO (World Trade Organization) after fast-tracking and bypassed as a non-treaty in the Senate after Democrats were shellacked in the November election.

There are many incongruities in the EU. First, the Common Market was successful. It did not and does not require the EU step of political integration. Political integration can never work because there is just too much history in Europe.
The Germans don't REALLY want to become France and France doesn't REALLY want to become Germany. Etc.
Furthermore, just as part of the argument, take Germany. The Germans are great people: disciplined, industrious, well-educated, etc. But...they really have not been able to get this government thing quite right going back at least 200 years.Read more
