I have an old-fashioned belief in the assimilation model. Which means you keep some of your original culture and celebrate it, if you want, but you also become part of the society of your new country. It's that I don't see happening very much.
I mostly see new Hispanic immigrants recreating their old society here. I don't think multi-culti, balkanized populations are good for any country. These immigrants aren't really immigrants, but rather ex pats.Read more
"I feel like I am attending a meeting of a religious sect here this morning. It’s as if the global revolution of 2016, Brexit, Trump, the Italian rejection of the referendum, has completely bypassed you.
You can’t face up to the fact that this bandwagon is going to roll across Europe in these elections in 2017. A lot of citizens now recognize this form of centralized government simply doesn’t work.
Opposition to "Globalism" as used in these sorts of debates is not about opposition to free trade, as the Brexiteers you referenced have repeatedly shown. Globalism is the idea that supranational considerations and organization are superior to local/national ones.
This often entails the loss of local/national sovereignty to organizations like the EU, NATO, WTO, UN, TPP, etc. which in their own ways limit the ability of local/national governments to legislate/act as they wish and, most importantly, reduce the ability of citizens to hold their governments to account.Read more
Globalism is a defective and manipulated version of capitalism where the corporate influence corrupts and subverts elected officials to set trading preferences to benefit the large and influential over the small.
On the political front, globalism is the authoritarian philosophy which believes central control is better than dispersed government.Read more
Globalism's ultimately about the Communist ideal. A two class society of Elites and a Proletariat that is entirely dependent upon the elites for survival. "Free" trade is the vehicle to achieve that.
A society, like America, that produces no tangible goods and an ever decreasing amount of IP, cannot survive.Read more
The only viable tax change would be the institution of the National Sales and Consumption Tax plan with absolutely NOT ONE exception from paying the taxes.
That means no poor person, no ethnic group, no illegal alien person, no refugee person, no Church or Religious group or Muslim group can skirt around paying taxes. They pay at the time of consumption or the time of service rendered for them when they pay their bills.Read more
Lets deconstruct: Why Does Facebook and the rest of silicon valley tech companies love Clinton and will do most anything to get her elected? It is all about the cash.
They invested heavily in Clinton, because they want gross expansion of the H1B Visa program to reduce wages by firing US tech workers and replacing them with H1B foreign workers secured from an Indian employee leasing firm.Read more
In 1991 we had BALANCED trade with Mexico - and for that matter, with Canada as well. Then came NAFTA and SUDDENLY we had a large trade deficits.
Let's look at trade deficits with THREE nations and remember we have "trade agreements" with them - all dollars in billions:
1991 - MX 2.4 surplus, Canada 5.1 deficit, China 12.7 deficit
1994 - MX 1.5 surplus, CA 13.9 deficit, CN 29.5 deficit
2000 - MX 24.6 deficit, CA 51.9 deficit, CN 83.8 deficit - favored nation by Clinton in '98.Read more
Whether you are a Democrat or Republican, this should be of great interest to you! This is only one State... If this doesn't open your eyes, nothing will! From the L.A. Times.
1. 40% of all workers in LA County (10.2 million people) are working for cash; and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card. (Donald Trump was right)
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.Read more
...it's been 11M since 2006. Pretty sure with 500,000+ coming over per year (that they know about), they can give us a new count. But I digress. It is unrealistic and impossible to "deport them all", and maybe not something that we should do anyway.
I agree with Trump's plan to deport any of them committing a crime (yes, they broke the law by crossing the border. I get that), and building a wall and turning ALL back towards the way they came. "But deh terk er jerbs!!!" That's fine too.
Now that Trump is in, he will cut corporate taxes to the point that new industry and manufacturing will be FLOODING into America, and I believe there will be plenty of jobs to go around.Read more
