...it's been 11M since 2006. Pretty sure with 500,000+ coming over per year (that they know about), they can give us a new count. But I digress. It is unrealistic and impossible to "deport them all", and maybe not something that we should do anyway.
I agree with Trump's plan to deport any of them committing a crime (yes, they broke the law by crossing the border. I get that), and building a wall and turning ALL back towards the way they came. "But deh terk er jerbs!!!" That's fine too.
Now that Trump is in, he will cut corporate taxes to the point that new industry and manufacturing will be FLOODING into America, and I believe there will be plenty of jobs to go around.Read more
The problem with the so-called "liberals" (leftist is more accurate) is that they are morally bankrupt. There are no absolutes; reality, truth is what you choose to believe it is. It truly is that simple.
Example; I was forced to attend a "Diversity/Tolerance" class once. As I listened to the presentation, I caught on to where the instructor was going with her instruction.
I made the comment that "it seems the point you are getting to is there are no absolutes; no absolute right, no absolute wrong". A very big smile came across her face and she said "That's right".Read more
Sounds like she's getting backlash because 60 were sent back on a flight that happened to land in Kabul. These same 60 people managed to make it all the way to northern Europe, but somehow will be destined to remain in Kabul?
Only when Merkel's polls tanked to within 4 points did she finally agreed to stronger vetting, expedient expulsions for criminals and economic migrants, tougher border control and giving the police the power to enforce what clearly needs to be accomplished.
Missouri has no illegals; go figure... shouldn't the other states do the same? Missouri's approach to the problem of illegal immigration appears to be more advanced, sophisticated, strict and effective than anything to date in Arizona.
Does the White House appreciate what Missouri has done? So, why doesn't Missouri receive attention? Answer: There are no illegals in Missouri to demonstrate.Read more
Senator Cruz is exactly on point. It is the abject failure of the federal government to enforce existing law. And it's not just in Texas, but in every state along the southern border. These criminals are arrested, convicted and serve whatever sentence the court handed down, but upon being released they are turned over to ICE for deportation.
But they are not deported. They are released and even relocated, usually to a sanctuary city.
That's precisely what happened in California. This criminal, a convicted felon, was arrested for drug possession and was scheduled for deportation, again, but the sheriff in San Francisco, himself a convicted felon, had the prisoner transferred to his county so he could be released. And days later an innocent citizen was dead.Read more
A few random thoughts. First, our nation had a very effective immigration system at the turn of the last century. Not only were immigrants required to swear allegiance to our nation, but they were required to have a sponsor, a job, proper medical exams and treatment if available, and also were properly vetted for security purposes.
They were also required to have a minimum of funds on deposit, to provide for any emergencies that might occur until they were properly settled. They were not given citizenship for a period of five years, until they learned our nation's language, laws and customs, which they were required to do before given their citizenship.Read more
- Assume 1000 refugees.
- Assume that there are an unknown number of violent offenders.
- Assume an imperfect immigration screening process.
- How many violent offenders are we as a society willing to accept the risk for, to help the refugees?
- Zero? Means we never accept refugees.
- 1000? Extreme cost to American society.
Someone is saying the right things about the wrong things we all see. So tell me, are you enjoying those clips of protestors waving Mexican flags and burning America's flag? Make your morning coffee a bit bitter? It oughta.
As much as Donald Trump thinks it's all about him, it's not. It's about the middle class ... the ignored, taken-for-granted, neglected, abused, dismissed, and screwed over middle class.
And now, now it's about these indignant idiots who think they have the right to smother speech and maim folks who speak their minds. Millions of us know what's happened but Trump has claimed the public face of the Great Dissatisfaction. No one had the guts to say what had to be said.Read more
This article starts out with a false premise and then like an inept bricklayer, just keeps stacking one falsehood after another.
The wall in the United States is not to create an isolationist state. It is necessary so that the U.S. Can regain control over who enters the nation.
No nation in world history, and in particular, no developed nation in close proximity to failing 3rd world states has ever survived, or would ever survive an "open border" situation, such as exists in the American Southwest.Read more
